Design and illustration moved on a step this week, with the character cards seeing completion. The game will ship with 8 characters, each with unique background and rules which effect game play in different subtle ways. Each character is assigned a colour. 5 of these can be seen here (minus character illustrations)...
The last 2 have caused some discussion. The colours are black and grey, and those colours are well suited to the 'vibe' of the character, and on the tabletop are easily recognisable. Jesùs suggested changing black to another colour, and at first I was swayed, but the more I stare at the cards, the more I start to like them both, and feel that both work without being too similar. Particularly the black emblem on the floor where the character illustration will sit. So far play testers have been sat about 70/30 on side of keeping both black and grey, but I'd like to ask a wider audience...
What are your thoughts? Would these 2 cards cause you issues on the tabletop? Are they too similar? Let me know! Bare in mind that the illustration of the characters themselves will change the appearance a fair bit.
